Without a doubt, this is the best song on this beast featuring an acoustic midsection that is just gorgeous. The band understands that the balance of symphonic elements and slightly neoclassical melodies is a danceone that must be presented like a painting in motion. So even if Ritu is a slightly less of a complete album than Irreversible Decayit sailpe be incorrect to say that Saille has taken a step backwards.

The only remaining missteps are that truncated ending and a brief interlude that adds little to the overall proceedings. When a superb guitar solo plays over an evolving backdrop and carries the song into its massive conclusion, it shows Saille at absolute peak strength.

Saille - Ritu | Metal-Fi Review

A Memoir Nice Rack! The chanting mid-way through is awesome and a much welcomed change of pace.

Two years later, their ssaille debut and first album as a complete band is upon us. It is the immortal chant spoken by a primitive backwater cult who worship an ancient and terrifying deity in H. The song features a very tastefully done violin breakdown before it goes back to the black.

And over the years, many many artists have payed homage to the Lovecraftian mythos in every possible conceivable way from song titles, album titles, lyrics, t-shirts, to even obscure small font liner dedications.

The track reaches its zenith around the 3: Thankfully, the meat of the album is stellar. The drums, intertwining guitars, keys, vocals and everything else are all just players in this dance, moving gracefully around each other and only coming together at the most crucial moments.

For me, this is probably the first metal album that really does Lovecraft justice or the only I can remember. In fact, if one had to make a real complaint about this sophomore effort, it is that Saille probably should have employed more theatricality. After signing a deal with Code records and recruiting some full-time musicians, Saille was now a properly outfitted unit and took their symphonic horror show on the road.

As you can imagine, since Gaerdelen is a keyboardist, the synth saiole arrangements throughout this record are outstanding. The singer really does sound insane and has me convinced that he was definitely visited by one of the Old Ones in his dreams and then wrote. Just keep in mind that Ritu is really a killer minute album disguised in a minute suit.
