I managed mmapsettoolkit convert the files!!!!!!! Occasionally, installing a mapset will cause problems with MapSource starting up; usually, uninstalling the mapset with MapSet Toolkit will fix that problem.

I found the Garmin is pretty easy, complete and quite accurate, could be a nice alternative.
